Committed to addressing the critical mental health needs within the entrepreneurial community, the Sharmin Ali Foundation for Entrepreneurs (SAFE) aims to provide comprehensive resources and support systems tailored specifically for founders and innovators navigating the demanding landscape of business.
Sharmin’s own journey, marked by both highs and lows, entrepreneurial triumphs, and personal strife, serves as the driving force behind her foundation’s mission. Having spearheaded the successful eight-figure exit of her first startup, an OTT streaming service, and raised millions for her second startup, Sharmin intimately understands the pressures inherent in the entrepreneurial journey, especially surrounding mental health.
Inspired by Sharmin’s personal experiences battling severe clinical depression and overcoming a recent cardiac event, she recognizes the profound toll that entrepreneurship can take on a founder’s mental well-being. In recent months, she suffered a heart attack due to the stress of her endeavors. As an immigrant woman of color who has confronted adversity and near-death encounters, Sharmin’s resilience and empathy fuel her commitment to supporting fellow entrepreneurs facing similar struggles.
